Salon Wouter De Raeve and Benjamin Deboosere
This was the first salon by Wouter de Raeve and Benjamin de Boosere at our new Belgium Artists in Residence flat at Memhardtstrasse 2, Berlin Alexanderplatz.
Within the framework of their project ‘Tempelhofer Feld’, Air Berlin Alexanderplatz (ABA) Artists-in-Residence
Benjamin Deboosere and Wouter De Raeve, centred the salon discussion around the current state and potential future of the Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin. In 2010 – two years after the closure of the inner-city airport ‘Berlin Tempelhof’, the field was opened to the public as a park, with its future intention remaining undecided. In Benjamin and Wouter’s book project, an extensive amount of photographs depict the ways in which Berliners are using the immense space, capturing these inherently fleeting moments in the life of a city. The evolutions around the field and its potential future are discussed with several experts in the field of architecture, sociology and philosophy.
Invited speakers: Serge Rompza of NODE (Berlin/ Oslo), Tobias Wenig Design, Pieter-Jan Grandry (Crap is good) , (Modem Design), Mark Pezinger Verlag. .
